Who is: Clean Car Industries

1972

Like many businesses, CCI’s early days consisted of little more than a couple folding tables and chairs in a small room with a desire to create a future for the family.

It was fall of 1972 when Herb Wandersee Founded OSCO Chemical Inc, based in St Louis Missouri. OSCO Chemical Supported local operators in and around the St. Louis area by providing soaps to a wide variety of vehicle wash setups.

During the early years, OSCO successfully cultivated a long-standing business relationship with the US military by providing sales of equipment, soaps and technical support to Ft. Leonard Wood and other regional military bases.

Fun Fact: Herbs teenage daughter came up with the name OSCO while the family was discussing starting the business.

Our Small COmpany”, she says. Needless to say, it stuck!

1992

Herbs third born, Brian Wandersee, having grown up in the company was the one that took to the carwash industry the most. By the early 90’s Brian had all but taken over, growing the company from a respectable $100,000 annual revenue to over $6,000,000 a year by expanding into the retail gasoline and convenience store sector. Along with the financial growth was geographical growth. From the small local company servicing the St. Louis area, to doing business in 16 states, OSCO had become a major player in the industry and it was time for a name that reflected these changes.
